Edward Lear’s poem is “The Duck and the Kangaroo”.

In this poem a duck and a kangaroo met with each other and they have dialogues. The duck mentioned that her life was boring because she was in the “nasty pond”.

She mentioned it to be ‘nasty’ because she was restricted to be in that pond and she did not feel anything interesting to be in that pond. She wanted to go out somewhere. So, when she met the kangaroo, she asked him to take her for a ride on his back.
