Why did the Framers make the Constitution such a short, general, and non-specific document?

i hope you mean the indian constitution.. so in short they didnt want the constitution to me amended again since it'd be a chaos. and it's an official document how can u expect it to be short and general? The document lays down the framework demarcating fundamental political code, structure, procedures, powers, and duties of government institutions and sets out fundamental rights, directive principles, and the duties of citizens.
