The tortoise was too slow to move. The hare on the other hand, could run very fast. So, proudly, the hare always underestimated the tortoise.

The hare did not study his adversary well.All he knew was that the tortoise was slow, was unfit to race and was, therefore, a definite loser.He underestimated the tortoises' strong perseverance and sure confidence.The hare never wondered why the tortoise was racing him.The hare also did not think of the consequences of the race.Even if had won, he would have beaten a poor adversary.He would never have come out big in the race.Whereas, the tortoise showed great thinking by taking on a strong adversary.
