Hauser and other villagers came to attend the last lesson to express their respect and gratitude to M. Hamel for forty year long service to them. The entire village was very sad. M. Hamel had taught the people of Alsace fir forty years. He had become an integral part of their life. All the young and the old had come to attend his last class to show their respect to him. There were tears in the elderly people. They tried to learn as much as they could from their beloved teacher. Most of them were feeling quite patriotic and regretful for neglecting learning their mother tongue.

Hauser and villagers came to attend the last lesson in honor of ''M Hamel’' a school teacher .This was the villagers way to pay tribute as well as the respect to the school teacher because he had given his 40 years of life in service at the school. There was elderly people who knows the "M Hamel" sitting in the back benches during the last lesson of the master.
