Not all Rulers were against British. The Rulers who were against British were Khalsa Raj. Tipu Sultan and Maratha. British eliminated all the threats. In fact even the Mughals till 1857 were not anti British.

Bahadur Shah was reluctantly made the leader of Rebels in 1857. He paid a huge price for supporting the Rebels. Many of the Indian Kings supported the British in 1857 and that helped them regain and crush the 1857 Uprising.

The Princely Kingdom of Gwalior, Baroda, Kashmir. All supported the British. Today the descendants of all the Kings who supported the British in 1857 are MLA and MP in Indian Parliament and those who did not support the British like Tipu Sultan and Mughals their families are living in Poverty.

The Indian Rulers didn't wan't the British to rule because of the following reasons:

  • All other foreign rulers other than Britishers, lived in India.
  • They respected our culture and brought their own. Both prospered.
  • They spent all their wealth in India. They did not drain the country of its wealth by taking it to their native countries
  • After establishing themselves in India, they did not continue relationship with their native countries.
  • They consider all other states as foreign to them and treated so.
  • All these rulers sincerely administered the state, developed the state and took up many welfare projects in the country.
  • Trade prospered during their rule. People were also doing fairly well
  • Britishers on the other hand in the guise of administering our country, has been looting the country
  • When Britishers were prospering and becoming rich, India and Indians were becoming poor.
  • All the rule and regulations introduced during British rule were to favor the Britishers.
