why did the intruder want to impersonate garrard? was he successful in it? give reasons.

this was because he had police back of him...he wanted to take the identity of Gerrard so that he could be safe from police.
he was not successful in it. gerrard had told lie that he was in a murder case too...so cops were Back of him too....so if the intruder took Gerrards identity...he was going to be caught. ...
