World War 1 (WW1) was fought between Allied Power and Central Powers in which Allied Powers became victorius. This war had far reaching consequences. One of which was rise of dictatorship in Eastern European Countries like Germany , Hungary, Italy and USSR.
The reason for this are :
1. Humiliation caused to the losing nations through Treaty of Versailles which inculcated hypernationalism in the minds of the people. For eg: Germany.
2. Ideological War commencing after the rise of communist USSR. Thus, the western powers gave support to dictatorial ambitions of Mussoline in Italy. Moreover,League of Nation formed post WW1 was devoid of impartiality which further contributed to rise of anarchy.
3. Economic burden and hyperinflation faced by the people in the aftermath of Great Depression leading to loss in faith of democracy. The dictators promised people top pull them out of economic misery.
4. Breakdown of Ottoman Empire post WW1 which created instability in the region. This gave breeding ground to the dictators.
5. Creative leadership and vocabulory of dictators along with advancement in military technology further enhanced the rise of dictatorship in Eastern Europe.

Thus, dictatorship in eastern europe was grown under the bedrock of WW1. This further lead to WW2 in 1939.
