Mariners blamed ancient mariner for their plight because he was the one who had killed the innocent albatross.
They all called it as his sin.
And they blamed that it was because of his sin and deed that fog and mist came and also ship was stagnated in the middle of the ocean like a painted ship on a painted ocean.

Heya,
The other mariners blamed the ancient mariner for their plight because ancient mariner was the one who shot that innocent albatross without any reason.
They thought that it was the deed of the ancient mariner that brought fog mist! They thought the albatross was the God's messenger and they thought it as a good omen. But he shot down the albatross due to which they faced many difficulties.
Hope it helps you!
