Kings were always resembled in the second face of God by everyone in the world not just in the chola empire. The kings of the chola dynasty built temples of god which somewhat connected with the name of the king. The king took the gods name because he wanted to appear like a god. Through the rituals of a temple ,a god (king) worshipped another good. That is why , people worshipped the chola rulers as gods
