The poet chose that road because it was less travelled. He wanted to do those activities which had not been done by anyone earlier. The poet didn't seem to be interested in choosing a much trodden path of life.

Answer:

Explanation:

Why did the poet choose the road "less traveled by"? In “The Road Not Taken,” Robert Frost chooses the road “less traveled by” because it initially appears to be in slightly better condition than the other road. In fact, the second path seems to be more inviting, appealing, and “perhaps the better claim,/Because it was grassy and wanted wear.”
