Answer the population of London city increased from 1 million to 4 million during the year 1880.

Explanation i) london vas a powerful magnet for migrant population, even though I didn't have any large number of factories.

ii) during the 19th Century London was a city of clerks and shopkeepers of small traders and skilled artisans, Semi skilled and sweated out workers of soldiers and beggars .

iii) there was a dockyard which provided opportunities for livelihood.

iv) there were 5 major types of industries employed in large numbers; footwear and clothing, wood and furniture,metals and engineering, printing and stationary and previous products.

v) during 1st world war,the number of large factories increased and a large number of people joined the newly created jobs.
