The postmaster sent money to lencho because he was touched by lenchos naivety and unwavering faith in god. He wished to have the faith of lencho which lencho had in god.
So the postmaster collected money from his employees and sent that amount of money to lencho with only having god written on it so as to make him believe that it was only god who had sent that amount of money to him.
