Postmaster as it is described was amiable person. He felt bad for Lencho on reading his letter. And somewhere deep down in his heart he had a desire to help someone. On reading Lencho's letter , an urge grew inside the post master to help the man . Also the postmaster was surprised to see someone with such an unshaken and strong faith in God. He might have thought that if Lencho did not received the money from God , he might loose all his faith in God. So in order to do both the things at the same time that is help Lencho without shaking his faith from God , the postmaster decided to help Lencho beyond his capacity. He asked for the money from his friends and employees and himself gave a part of his salary considering the help as an act of charity. However the postmaster altogether was just able to collect a total sum of seventy pesos . He wrote a letter to Lencho and signed it God so that Lencho believes that the letter and the money has really been sent by God. He did this help beyond his capacity because he didn't wanted something in return , he did it as to help a person in need.
