Moderates were a group of people in the Indian congress.They believed in the British ruler's a sense of justice and sought to convience the British government to pass reforms that would benefit the Indians in the government of India. They did'nt demand complete Independence from the British. They used peaceful methods to present their demands before the British in a humble manner. As a result the British turned down many of their demands. This made some people unhappy in the congress .Therefore, the radicials called the moderates "political beggars". some well known moderates are WC       Bonnerjee , Surendranath Bannerjee and Gopal Krishna Gokhale.
