Tawa Matsya Sangha or TMS organisation was set up because of rights of forest dwellers people basically for Satpura forest in Madhya Pradesh. In 1994 Government gave order private contractors for fishing from Tawa Reservoir with the help of villagers. But the contractors didn't hear this they took outside workers. So villagers we're very angry and they set up this TMS group and protected against their rights.

Building of the Tawa dam resulted in the submerging of large areas of forest and agricultural land. Some of the displaced forest dwellers settled around the reservoir and found a new source of livelihood by fishing.

Answer:

The Tawa Matsya Sangh (TMS) were fighting for their right to continue fishing for their livelihood as the private contractors drove the local people away and got the cheap labour from outside. Hence their right to livelihood was threatened.

So by large scale participation of villagers led to formation of an organisation and they were able to organise rallies and road blockade with large number of people protesting and demand their rights . And also it helped them to set up cooperative which helped them to increase their earnings substantially by buying the fish catch at fair price from them and also arrange transport to sell in markets at good price.
