why did use of English for official purpose not stopped in 1965 as stated in the constitution

This was due to United opposition of people from non-hindi speaking states like Kerala, and andhra Pradesh. This opposition took violence in some places. So, use of English for official purpose was not stopped...

Answer: • according to the constitution the use of English for official purpose was to stop in 1965 . However many non hindu speaking states demand that the use of English continue.

•In Tamil Nadu, this movement took a violent form the central government respond by agreeing to continue the use of English along with Hindi for official purpose.
