Answer:
It's 2020 and it sank back in 1912, it's already lasted 108 years, it probably won't make it for another 75 years. So that brings up your question, why hasn't it been raised?
- It's too fragile, currently at the depth it sits which is 12,500 feet, raising it would mean it'd under go multiple pressure stages, and as soon as it hits the surface, it could just collapse.
- Where would you put it? The Titanic was 882 feet long in 1912, it's still a pretty large size. It wouldn't really make any sense to raise it out of the ocean where there's a lot of space underwater, to put it on land and take up space.
- Who owns it? White Star Line merged with Cunard a little later on, so does Cunard own it? Does a country own it, there's so many things to consider with ownership, that would be a whole other problem.
- Cost: To raise a 50 foot yacht, it costs $250 an hour, for just the use of airbags. Imagine how much it will cost to do that for two large sections of a ship.
- It's buried: The Bow section is way too far in the silt to get it out without ripping it, same goes for the stern.
- It's an underwater grave: So many people died that fateful night, that it seems to still disturbing the peace of it, the Edmund Fitzgerald lost 29 and is off limits, along with the Wilhelm Gustloff which lost many civilians during WWII.
Answer:
Titanic is one of the most famous ships in history. Of course, a lot of her popularity came because of the tragic end of her career. Titanic sank after hitting an iceberg on her first journey from Southampton to New York in April 1912. More than 1500 people died that night and the tragedy was popularized by numerous books, movies and conspiracy theories.
We could not get the Titanic out from the sea because of the specified reasons:
1) In the last 100+ years, it has rusted/deteriorated to the point of probably losing all structural integrity
2) The titanic is very deep underwater and ,while possible, lifting it would be very difficult.as it is partially buried
3) According to some scientists, the wreckage of the Titanic could disappear completely by 2030
