we want clock to do our work at the right time I am still not getting what you want to ask?. clocks are just a device that measures the gaps between two events or rate of according events and it is not necessary that everyone will measure the same time gap between two events even there clocks are synchronized. Time is money. time is nothing but an illusion created by the entropy .events every time the clock ticks and if you will look from the point view of physics time is the property of space and it is 4th dimension of space. changes causes time not time causes changes I mean to say causality is responsible for time ,not time is responsible for causality. time is caused due to entropy and from the point view of physics without time space would not exist so we need time for our existence .space and time can't be independent because time is caused due to changes in space.
