because when Arjuna bhima nakula did not return after a long time who went to fetch some water from the nearby lake . yudhisthira felt something was fishy and sent sahadeva to see what was the matter.

Yudhistira had sent Nakula to bring water. But Nakula did not return for a long time. Therefore he sent Sahadeva to see what the matter was.
