The Zamindars supported the blue rebellion as they were unhappy with the increasing power of the planters. Also they forced all the zamindars to pay huge amount of revenue and take interest in improving land. Moreover they also were unhappy as they were forced to give them land on long leases. Furthermore if they failed to pay the amount they lost their zamindari. They also understood that the ryots were forced to plant indigo and could not cultivate what they wanted to , which made the zamindars get angry over the planters. This is why they supported the blue rebellion.
