Many of the land tax policies of British turned India into agricultural colony for the following reasons:

1. Land tax policies include:

• Permanent zamindari system

• mahalwari system

• ryotwari system

2. Permanent zamindari system was implemented by lord Cornwallis in the year 1793. India turned into an agricultural colony because farmers were the grave sufferers and the hands of zamindars and money lenders hands to pay the debts they had to develop an agricultural colony.

3. Mahalwari system was implemented by RM bird and James Thomson. the demanded more facts from the zamindars and hence they have to lose their ownership of the land at last the farmers again were the sufferers.

4. Ryotwari system was implemented in the Baramahal region by Alexander read in 1792.hear the farmer and the company by direct link so the tiller of the land was recognise owner of the night the height of a 50% of the agricultural production is a land tax.hence this land tax system also resulted in India in turn into a agricultural colony.

Small farmers were given land ownership they subjected to more suffering due to heavy land taxes and if whenever they fail to repair the loans they had to grow more and more crops which were required to British in the England. hence the land tax policies implemented by the British turn the India into an agricultural colony.
