Why didn't the rainfall fullfil lenchos expectation

Lencho expected from rain to gave him a good crop so that he could earn money by selling his crop and also have a good stock of corn for his family for the whole year but rain ,instead , turns into hailstorm and destroyed his crop completely. Now there is no corn for his family for the whole year. It was very different from his expectation.
