Protein digestion occurs in the stomach and duodenum in which 3 main enzymes, pepsin secreted by the stomachand trypsin and chymotrypsin secreted by the pancreas, break down food proteins into polypeptides that are then broken down by various exopeptidases and dipeptidases into amino acids.

Hi Arooba

Digestion of proteins does not begin in oral cavity because the protein digesting enzymes are absent in oral cavity.

Enzymes that are required for protein digestion like pepsin, trypsin etc are present in stomach hence protein digestion begins in stomach.

☆ Hope it helps
