All metals pieces get polished before the experiment because to remove the layer of metal oxide.

to remove the layer of metallic oxide and preventing the rusting of iron , because most metal reacts with oxygen from the environment to form metallic oxide which causes decontinity in the circuit show the metal pieces get police before the experiment
