why do animal cells not have a fixed shape ?

Animal cells do have a little more variety because plant cells have rigid cell walls. This limits the shapes that they can have. Both plant cells and animal cells have flexible membranes, but these are inside walls in plant cells, sort of like a trash bag in a trash can. Animal cells just have the membrane.

Answer:

Explanation:

Animals behave differently, which results in varied cell shapes. Each cell type contributes differently to the healthy operation of our bodies, and these contributions are made possible by the morphologies of the cells.

Plant cells have hard cell walls, thus animal cells do have a little more variability. The shapes they can take are constrained by this. Flexible membranes are present in both plant and animal cells, but in plants, these membranes are enclosed within the cell walls, much like a trash bag is within a trash can. Animal cells only contain a membrane.

The cell wall, which is incredibly hard and requires the cell to have a fixed form, is what creates this structure. Animal cells, on the other hand, only have the plasma membrane and lack a cell wall. They therefore lack a clearly defined shape.
