Why do animals need more energy as compared to plants?

Animals require more energy than plants.
This is due to various reasons. Some are :
1) Animals are motile organisms whereas plants are non-motile. Being motile requires more energy.
2) Plants have many dead tissues whereas this is not in the case of animals. Hence, again animals need more energy.

•Plants do not show locomotion because they are rooted in soil at a fixed place..

•They don't need efficient energy supply for regulating their body temperature to that of animals who are generally warm blooded..
