Aquatic animals live in the water while terrestrial animals live on land... hence the amount of oxygen dissolved in water is low as compared to the amount of oxygen present in air..., HENCE, aquatic animals breathe much faster than terrestrial animals

<b>The rate of breathing is much faster in aquatic animals than in terrestrial animals because the amount of dissolved oxygen is fairly low compared to the amount of oxygen in the air.
