Why chalk broke easily and why iron do not broke easily?

the intermolecular force between the particles of chalk are very weak whereas iron has the strong intermolecular force thats why chalk broke easily and iron do not

In a chalk piece, the molecules attraction will be less. so chalk breaks easily
whereas the molecules in iron are strongly bonded each other and can break only when a higher amount of heat is produced to it
