it can form covalent bonds by sharing of electrons. as it has 4 electrons in its outermost shell which makes it impossible to gain or loose electrons. i.e if it looses then it wil get shrink and it does nt have space to adjust more electrons in it. hence it shares electrons!

Here is the answer ..

Carbon

✔️Carbon is a versatile element.
In short , the entire living kingdom is made from carbon. Carbon is the basic ingredient of our body.
✔️Millions of molecules ranging from small and simple methane molecule to extremely big DNA molecule are made from carbon.

First of all, What's Covalent Bond??

✔️The chemical Bond formed by the sharing of two valence electrons between two atoms is called Covalent Bond.

✔️The Covalent Bond between two carbon atoms is strong and therefore stable.
Carbon is bestowed with catenation power due to the strong and stable covalent bonds.

✔️One, Two Or Three Covalent Bonds can together Bond two carbon atoms. These bonds are Single covalent bonds, double covalent bonds and triple covalent bonds.

✔️Hence, Carbon only forms covalent bonds with carbon or any other because carbon needs four electrons it cannot lose four electrons.

✔️To gain stability, it should lose its valence electrons, gain four more electrons or share its 4 valence electrons with other atoms.

✔️It can't lose electrons because of the following reason..

✔️We know that, Carbon has 4 Valence electrons in its outer electron shell.

✔️Hence, Losing or gaining 4 electrons is tough because of the higher electrostatic force between them.
Thus, it shares electrons than losing or gaining it.

✔️Hence, it is proved that Carbon makes only Covalent bonds.
