Coastal areas will generally have more moderate temperatures than inland areas because of the heat capacity of the ocean. First let’s define specific heat. It is the amount of heat required to raise the temp of body by 1°C. So it is difficult to raise/ lower the temp of body with high specific heat than lower one.
