coconuts not only grows in coastal regions. It grows in non-coastal regions too. Coconuts have a high water requirement. So it is easier for them to grow in those areas. In non-coastal regions the high necessity of water is matched by using coco peat near the roots of coconut trees, so that the water stays near the root for a long time. In coastal regions the salt of the sea does not harm the tree because, the water that the trees take in are from the water tables. The amount of water in the water tables of coastal regions are high.
