Why do distilled water not conduct electricity, where as rain water does?

Not sure but rain water contains more salt content comparing to distilled water.are u OK?

For a liquid to conduct electricity, it must contain free ions. Distilled water does not contain free ions and so electricity cannot pass through it. Rainwater has ions dissolved in it and hence it conducts electricity.
