Why do doctor advice to put a strip of wet clothes on the forehead of a person having high temperature

This is because, Water having a high Specific Heat Capacity absorbs more amount of heat.

When strip of wet cloth is placed on the forehead,heat energy is absorbed and the blood flowing through becomes cooler.
