why do dry Apricot placed in water swells

The water moves from the hypotonic to the hypertonic solution. And that is why it swells in the water, because water is hypotonic than the inner apricot medium. Apricot placed in salt solution do not swell because salt solution has high concentration than pure water which do not allow water to move in or out !".
