Earthworm detect light from the photoreceptors present on their skin. They basically lack eye. They try to stay out of sunlight. If the worm skin gets completely dried due to sunlight, they would not be able to breath and eventually they may die. Cockroach may also be scared of light approaching hence it move to dark area to protect itself from injuries.
