Why do electric plugs not melt even if the wires inside them get overheat Ed ?

ELECTRIC PLUGS DO NOT MELT EVEN THOUGH THE WIRE INSIDE IS OVERHEATED BECAUSE ELECTRIC PLUGS, SWITCHES ETC. THERMOPLASTICS CAN RESIST FIRE AND TOLERATE MORE HEAT AND SO IT DOES NOT MELT.
