- First of all, electrons always have a tendency to travel opposite to the direction of the electric field intensity.
- Similarly, electrons also have a tendency to travel in the opposite direction as compared to that of the electric field lines.
- Another reason can be : they are repelled from the negative terminal and attracted by the positive terminal.
- That is why, direction of flow of electrons is always opposite to the direction of flow of current in a circuit.
