ions means charged body....
if we take an example of an element... then you may notice that... an element consists of equal number of proton and equal number of electron. in such an offence when an element
is subjected to chemical reaction then to form a compound it either loses electron where the element gets changed into an ion which was initially an atom... due to more positive charge that is proton... the element gets positive charge for example Na+
moreover when an atom accept electrons then the element gets changed into Negative Ion because the number of electron is more as compared to the number of proton...
