why do elements in same group of the periodic table have similar physical and chemical properties​

your answer:-

Elements in the same group has same number of valence electrons (electrons in outermost shell) as such the physical and chemical property of an element is determined by it's valence electrons and therefore in a group they have same properties

Elements in the same group( in the periodic table) have similar chemical properties. This is bcz there atoms have the same no. of electrons in the highest occupied energy level.
