The grains in hot water move more rapidly than the grains in cold water because Hot Water's particles have high kinetic energy stored in them as compared to that of Cold Water's particles. Due to this there is more Brownian motion of molecules of hot water than there is in cold water, as a result of this the grains, more frequently collide with molecules in hot water and get energized and show more motion.
