Why do guard cells have rigid cell walls

The remaining walls are thin and elastic. Guard cells have elastic walls. This is because the stomatal pores have to continuously open and close to allow exchange of gases through them.

guard cell have rigid cell wall because it has to control opening and closing of the stomata pore and to minimize the evapration
