as during hibernation they go for a protected place frm which they do not return for few months under there unfavourable conditions. ...cold....outside ....so they eat a lot before going to winter sleep hibernation so tht the eaten food can break down in fat and water .....for survival during this period under which they slow down their metabolic activities

Answer:

Animals who stay in extreme cold climate go for hibernation that is long, deep sleep. As it is frozen everywhere they do not get food ( prey ) to eat and gain energy. So they eat a lot and store it as fat under their skin so that they can survive even in such conditions.
