Why do ionic compounds conduct electricity in molten state but not solid state.explain in?

because in solid state their is very strong force of attraction between ionic compound

Hey !!
In the molten state, ionic solids ionise to give free ions and hence can conduct electricity. However, in the solid state, since the ions are free to move about but remain held together by strong electrostatic force of attraction, they behave as insulator.
