Hey ya,
Ionic compounds have very strong ionic bone which formed by the complete transfer of one or more electrons hence it consists of very high electroplating forces of attraction.
So to break that great force a very high temperature is required.
Hope it helps if it does please mark it a branliest one.

I am happy to help you. in ionic compounds the force of attraction of ions are very high so it doesn't separate easily that is the reason why it melts at high temperature.
