the ionic compounds having high melting and boiling point because the force of attraction between the opposite charge are strong to break this it needs the large amount of energy to break the strong inter -ionic bond or attraction

The molecules of ionic compounds are bonded together by strong forces of attraction. So to break these bondings, high amount of heat is required. So ionic compounds have high melting points.
