When a plant fails to receive enough sunlight, the leaves turn from green to yellow.

Actually, the green colour of the leaves is caused due to the presence of chlorophyll that reacts in the presence of sunlight, resulting in photosynthesis.

As the leaves cannot produce foods due to the lack of sunlight, the plant becomes weaker and the leaves become yellow due to the degeneration of chlorophyll.

The leaves became the yellow in the absence of the sunlight because of the following reasons

:-

1) As we know that the leaves are green because of Chlorophyll

2) If Their is no sunlight then there is less production of Chlorophyll

3) Due to the less production Chlorophyll doesn't prepare in proper quantity

4) And the main reason is also that when we water plants in sunlight then the Water is absorbed by sunlight
