Why do liquids have mostly lower density than solids in short answer?

This happens because in solid no. Of particles are arranged very tightly they have no space between them as the intermolecular force of attraction is very high, this makes solid hard and rigid and make possess high density. That's why liquid can Flow and solid can not.
