hi frnd

density is the amount of mass in a designated volume.v volume of a liquid is larger than solid.density is less in liquid because of expanding movement of liquid of fluid

I believe this will help u ;)

density= mass/ volume
As the forces of attraction between molecules is less in liquids their volume is more. And thus their density is less. :)
