Why do meteors burn on entering into the atmosphere

As meteors are far away from us , they have a great force when they enters the atmosphere . And hence they burn entering into the atmosphere

Meteors usually burn on entering the atmosphere. This is because when the meteorites enter the atmosphere they produce friction with the gases present in the atmosphere and it forms heat and finally it burns out. This is the reason why meteors burn while entering the atmosphere.
