why do modern democracy have representative government

A representative democracy is a form ofgovernment in which representatives are elected to make policy and enforce laws while representing the citizens. All modern democratic countries are representative, not direct, democracies. A representative democracy is also known as a republic.

because most of the countries which practice democracy are large where there is difficulty for people to sit and take all decision regarding administrasion
